Cricketer suffers extensive fracture of middle and superior third of his face after being struck by a ball

Amateur cricketer player, Alex Tait ends up unrecognizable after being struck by a ball while bowling in nets, suffering multiple fractures on his face and skull, including both cigomatic bones, nasal bones, frontal bone and orbital complex of both sides. The player was taken inmediately to a local hospital after the injury. He was hospitalized during the whole first week, where after evaluation they explained to him that he will need close control by a Neurosurgeon and Oral and Maxillofacial team who will prepare him for a open reduction surgery.
During the time he is been prepared he is not going to be able to play, Neurosurgeons indicated absolute rest to evaluate and assure the function of both eyes are maintained, so economical problem is under its way. Father to a little son and with another one on its way. Tait faces financial difficulty after being told he will not be able to work for several months. Having only recently started a new job he is not entitled to any sick pay other than SSP.
A crowdfunding was started by friend, Chris Taylor where he states "Alex has played at Lightcliffe CC all his life and is a model Club man. The Cricket Family is renowned for coming together to support each other and Alex is hopeful cricketers around the country will assist his current position and donate a small amount to allow him to continue living whilst he endures the coming months".
